"All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning."
The Iranians ultimate weapon, and they used it in Iraq/Iran War 1, is chemical and biological armed missiles. They can threaten civilian cities with them and disrupt US operations. Of course their own Shiites are in the field of fire.
You obviously haven't been following my posts.
There is some speculation they missed on purpose as a face saving gesture. There are reports that Iran's state run media is reporting scores of US fatalities, when in fact no one else is reporting casualties.
They probably informed the US privately that they could have been WMD armed and will be next time. It was a demonstration that they will launch from Iran.
“...If there were no American casualties, dont be surprised if it ends here. I mean a temporary cessation of overt hostilities. Meanwhile, the parties will work through intermediaries behind the scenes to try to find a path toward mutual peaceful coexistence.....”
If the missiles had been launch from Iraq, I agree. Since they were launched from Iran, I expect that the Air Force will destroy the missile launch sites, and those military that launched them.
Six fully loaded B-52s recently sent to the region...
They wanted to see what lit up, well, theres that, plus...?
A bit more than a red line.
I believe Obama would have given them two palettes of cash, instead of the one that they asked for...
With things falling down around them, the leaders in Iran need a common enemy. The fact that he has not turned Iran into a glass parking lot shows remarkable restraint. I would suggest s few carefully-place missiles might make them see the folly of their ways.
Then let’s get out as best we can. Let them beat the hell out of each other. We just need to do what we have to do to deal only those threats to our own security.
That’s pretty much the way it was when Saddam still ran Iraq. Iraq and Iran kept each other in check. It was a colossal blunder by Bush to overtake Iraq and try to impose a western style democracy in the country. It upset the balance in the region, cost the US trillions of dollars, thousands of American lives and leaving the region in a much worse state than it was before we stepped in.
for 40 years Iran has threatened to attack us and destroy Israel. They have planned, supported or carried out dozens of attacks.
Their mullahs believe it is their moral obligation to start the apocalypse and bring in the 13th Mufti (sp) They are religious fanatics. Unlike the soviets they don’t believe in MAD. They are on amission from their god.
They re developing a nuke and the ICBMs to delver them to Europe.
What do we do. Nothing. Sanctions, but they continue.
Trump says they will never get the bomb. For the first time on any issue except criminal hillary i dont believe him. It may be delayed but not stopped. There is only one way to stop them.
This was an opportunity and we will hit him with a soft glove.
Time to (quietly) declare victory, and move on. No need to retaliate for an impotent attack.
I really, really hope that the president has recordings of John Kerry talking with Iranians to set all this up that he can play. That would be the troll of the century.
Or their aim was very good and they hit nothing
Hannity showed photo where Pelosi is at party and drinking tonight as rockets hit our base.
Could be intentional sabotage by a sane Iranian commander. Doesn’t seem likely, but possible.
And our response is all is well?! Surely we will not let Iran attack US service members without disportionate response, LIKE LEVELING EVERY BASE AND SINKING EVERY SHIP.
That STATEMENT should be several Hundred CRUISE MISSILES.
If we don’t hit them for even launching even if it hit sand, we are sending a bs message
Some initial reports seemed to indicate a much bigger attack, so, maybe there is relief it was a fairly ineffective attack.
OR...
Eliminating Iran as a potentially nuclear capable country is the end game, and it may be that Trump feels Iran has played the hand the way he'd hoped.
