They fired short range ballistic missiles and couldn’t hit a military base. This is intentional and the Iranians are trying to save face. Smart move on their part.
They also didn’t target the base closest to Iran that would have probably had the highest chance of surprise and casualties. Looks like face saving theater tonight.
