What “widespread rejection of all things American”? That’s an illusion fomented by the left-wing press not only on the American continent but also (and especially) the European.
I have no idea what makes you think so. What makes American politics preferable to the European in Arabia or Central Asia. What about China? What do you think Libyans think of US? Long time ago US was associated with freedom and prosperity. Today everybody associates US influence with the opposite. Libya, Syria, Moldova, Ukraine, Iraq, Egypt. What is next? India, China, Russia, Germany?
