“”my son was a marine security guard in Amman he visited it twice””
My son in law was in the Marines and on 6 month (?) float with USMC Expeditionary Forces and he brought back some reading material/pictures from Petra that I devoured. I found it fascinating. They were still there when Clinton ordered some cruise missiles at (?) Their time to come home was extended because of what was going on then - 1996, I believe! I can’t find anything relative to that year but I’m sure it’s the right one.
I would advise everyone who hasn’t done any traveling to do so - my husband and I have always been so conservative that we didn’t spend any money on “going and seeing” that we should have. You never realize it until it’s too late. A FReeper recently asked what’s stopping us now....my husband’s health! All I can do now is tell other people WHAT they should do!!
I envy that you went to Israel. That would be the best trip of all.
yeah Israel was great. Jerusalem, Caphernum, Nazareth, Masada, needed more time. You can rent an apartment for 1 week for the cost of 1 night at the King David Hotel.
