It’s a non-binding resolution. They’re still afraid of ISIS, and Uncle Sam remains vital. And some Shiite factions figure the US will protect them from the other ones. So it’s a resolution and not a law, which would be binding.

Binding or non-binding how do we ignore it? Do we say, "Tough. We're staying?" How does that not look like it's an occupation force? If we don't have the support of the government then what's the point in being there?

Exactly. This is a show. It’s a show to appease Iraqi Shiites and the muslim world that they can stand up to us. When we don’t leave, they have good cause for saying we told you to get out and you won’t leave.
Secretly they want us there, but that doesn’t play into the narrative. I’d leave frankly, and then nuke the whole friggin Shiite hole.
