I was stationed in the Egyptian Sinai with the MFO at that time. Sat many hours manning my defensive position with my trusty M10 S&W 38 SPL with 4 inch barrel, probably striking fear in the hearts of terrorists everywhere. :)

I was on the USS America sitting on the 'Line of Death' in the Gulf of
Sidra when El Dorado Canyon went down. We were sitting in the shop
playing hearts when the GQ was sounded and the cats started firing
Intruders and Prowlers into the air...good times.
