Just seems like a two-bit criminal who has drifted around the Southwest for the past couple of decades, racking up various misdemeanors and a few felony charges...wonder what set him off that he decided to shoot up a church? Perhaps he was offered something in exchange for shooting up the church? Since he had a disguise, it looks like he intended to shoot, then get away, and not be identifiable.

It did seem like he was playing a “role” which didn’t mesh with any of his priors...kind of a Timothy McVeigh type?
Was this a set-up to create a specific scenario and Mr. Wilson’s excellent shot stopped it before it could be brought to fruition?
