You need 67 votes to convict. That would mean every Democrat + about 20 Republicans.
I also thought they needed 67 to impeach. A lot of people seem to be clutching their pearls over this. The dems need at least 20 republicans to convict. My opinion is that it won’t happen.
Another reason for the pause, they are currently threatening Senators in only ways that they can.
