He will be 80 in February. There should be mandatory retirement age for representatives, senators and federal judges. If 2 terms is good enough for president, that should be about enough for others as well. I think the military has a 30 year rule. Maybe that should be implemented across the federal government.

Their is a major employer that will remain nameless that changed their DBP to 35 yrs and no more contribution from us to cap those that are still there and on it as new employees were not allowed in in the mid 2000's. Let's not talk about the Private Sector, your in your Mid 50's and they are doing a Re-Org etc, frankly they want you out. It this is the new norm it's good for the Fed's as well.
And that means to me no going back to State Job / Political appointee job and I'd like to bar them from anything consultancy / K-Street.
They can go work at a box store in plumbing, anything but the Deep State.....
