Kind of a long ways out to call it a NYC suburb.
Rockland County is considered NYC suburb territory.
Believe it or not Greenwood lake is a suburb of NYC if commuting to work is the factor. I routinely go from Suffolk cty Long Island to Monsey to work.
The NYC “Metropolitan Area” consists of thirty counties including the five that make up NYC itself. Most people don’t realize that it’s the largest urban area in the US by both people AND land mass.
