Lol.A very smart Catholic friend used to say ( like about so many Catholics on the Supreme Court) that The reason Catholics are so smart is because they had to eat fish on Fridays.
I tell my RCIA catechumens that God chose the Jews because they are just like the whole rest of the human race, only moreso. (Only partly joking here)
That and parochial school nuns. Fish on Friday and a dedicated nun are not the norm anymore but Catholics from that era are still good Supreme Court material.
Catholics commonly ate fish on Fridays but there wasn’t actually a requirement to eat fish—just a prohibition against eating meat (the flesh of animals or birds, but the flesh of fish for some reason was not considered meat).
