I'm American and so she's not my queen either. However I consider her to be the symbolic queen of the Anglosphere. Her Christmas message is an age old tradition. Imagine Obama giving and addres like this? Ha!

I am of Irish ancestry.My Dad's older brother absolutely *hated* the British. A fair percentage of we Irish still do. I,however,don't hate the British at all and I must admit that I have a good deal of respect for the Queen. But I consider her to have regal authority...and stature...only in the United Kingdom and the several other countries that accept her authority (Canada,Australia,etc).
Like I said,she seems like a pretty nice girl to me...but we could never be more than friends.
