No wonder Mike Bloomberg wants to make everything illegal.
The more people who are caught with Big Gulps, unregistered cigarettes, or pieces of plastic with a spring inside that are larger than what he deems legal, the more people end up prison, where Bloombergs campaign can then hire them to make phone calls for a fraction of what it would cost to hire non prison labor.

John Scallan, a ProCom co-founder, said his company pays the Oklahoma minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, which then pays the incarcerated people working in the call centers... $20 dollars a month, but another policy document says there is a maximum pay of $27.09 per month. $1,160.00 to DoC
$20.00 to the worker.
That is 12.5 cents an hour.

Bloomberg is wealthy enough to pay staff $15 an hour. What a cheapskate.

I ‘loved’ that deal a couple years ago where the ‘committee’ for the 15 ph min wage group was paying its staffers 10-12 ph.

I'm sure Bloomberg's only regrets are:
1) He got caught.
2) The people in prison weren't Christians, gun owners, or climage change deniers.

What’s wrong with prison labor per se? Prisoners need to be working. Preferably at market rates, which may be considerably less than those of free men whose employment carrier far fewer risks.

Eh, I dunno about using prisoners for political (or even private) purposes. But putting them to work, hell yes. There's plenty of public areas that could have work done. Old-school chain gangs. Cleaning trash off of a stretch of road or in a park. Mowing those same places. Janitorial services at every state/municipal building. And so on.
