Why doesn’t she meet with officials from the Mexican government and ask them what is so wrong with Mexico that these asylum seekers are afraid to reside in Mexico after fleeing their homelands?

The simple answer is that the U.S. pays better welfare benefits than what Mexico pays for actual work. Throw is some cash under the table jobs like housecleaning and lawn mowing and the gap is even larger.

Our company opened a plant in Tijuana earlier this year after the agreement was signed with Mexico and can't recruit enough Mexicans. The Mexicans in the north of the country are actually fairly industrious and have a good work ethic. They basically see those from the south end of the country and Central America the same way we Americans view illegals in general.

They could all get work in Tijuana and other border cities if they were willing and capable. Most are neither. Especially when they know about the freebies available just north of the border.
