Well, House Democrats may be crazed zealots; but they are not stupid. There can be more here than meets the eye. If this goes to the Supremes, and it probably will, Chief Justice Roberts would possibly recuse himself- since impeachment articles have been passed. McGahn could then be swept into the Senate trial- if the lower court ruled for the Dems.

McConnell is slow walking impeachment and hoping a court order will give him CYA cover. The GOP Senate will be doing nothing different than they have the past three years: the minimum required in support of POTUS. Guaranteed.

The dems want witnesses so they can continue their trial by accusations. So they can slander their way to victory in the next election. That’s the only play in their playbook.
