No zoning in the town of 1,000, in which we live. PFFT!

You can pretty much do what ever you want up here. No one cares.

It would be great if it stays that way.

Nice, but how do you get up that hill in the Winter?

BTW, this is last Winter near where I live (Alabama).

From The New Yorker:

This prelapsarian landscape hides the menacing vices of white suburban culture - religious bigotry, racial angst, and ritualistic misogyny. The dark underbelly of America's primitive rural cultural ethos, one that has proven distressingly resistant to progressive and inclusive ideals, thrives in such pastoral settings.

A friend in Texas tells me there is no zoning there and they’ve been fine with it. There are, however, disposable subdivisions where most to almost all of the initial buyers move on to new ones after 10-15 years.
