Most people don’t know; Delaware has always been very racist, and solid DemocRAT. I used to work among a bunch of them. Shocking how much prejudice and haughty arrogance still hung on that long after 1964, etc., compared to what I grew up with as a hayseed in south central Pennsyltucky.
Delaware was a slave state before the Civil War. Frederick Douglass spent most of his time as a slave on the Delmarva Peninsula.
