New York Times Sad: Trump Has Ruined Washington DC's Christmas Party Networking Circuit
Ace of Spades HQ ^ | 12/23/2019 | Ace of Spades

Posted on 12/23/2019 10:17:52 AM PST by RightGeek

This entire article is a lie, in addition to being about trivial things.

Their suggestion is that Trump has stopped social mixing in DC.

That's nonsense. Trump people aren't going out to these parties because they get "confronted." The media cheers when Senators and Secretaries are driven out of restaurants by antifa. Who wants to take a chance that these lunatics call their antifa buddies and let them know that a Trump Commerce official is present and ready to be beaten?

Donald Trump Has Drained the Swamp (of Good Christmas Parties)

Elites and D.C. establishment types are nostalgic for the days when cabinet secretaries rubbed shoulders with the riffraff and -- gasp -- journalists.

...

Going out in Washington is work. Parties are places for D.C. officials and members of the press corps to meet, mix and move the pieces on the chess board. (Booze helps.) Money or beauty is irrelevant. Power, and the proximity to it, is the only metric. It has always been so.

President Trump has, as promised and to his supporters' glee, disrupted Washington’s way of life. And sure, as during Watergate, the news business is booming and random bureaucrats have been thrust onto the national stage. But it’s been hell on the social life.

...

In the beginning, though, people such as Ms. Conway, Steven Mnuchin and Ivanka Trump could be counted on to show up at parties and interpret the latest presidential paroxysm in an effort to soothe the freaked-out establishment. Three years in, relations have soured.

"It's like a siege mentality," said Kevin Chaffee, a senior editor at Washington Life, a society magazine that is read by President Trump. "They don’t want to go out and court confrontation. Trump has cast a pall."

The NYT wrote about “Christmas Parties”? The politically correct term is “Holiday Parties”.

It’s the New York Times. I’m surprised that they used the term “Christmas Party“ instead of their more inclusive “Holiday Party”.

And this is precisely why real America despises you. We wish you ill. We love blizzards, hurricanes, and the thought of a 50.mwgaton bomb right over your empty heads. Until obe of those blessings Congress along, we will just enjoy watching Trump make you miserable

It figures the only time the Times used the word “Christmas” was to bash the President with it.

At least Trump allowed you to once again call them “Christmas” parties.

"They don’t want to go out and court confrontation. Trump has cast a pall."

This is so laughable, but it's just how liberals think. "How dare they quit coming to our parties so we can continue to insult, abuse, disrespect and publicly shame them!" It's like a restaurant where the waiter spits in your food right at your table, then they complain you haven't been back for more.

Donald Trump Approval Rating Surpasses Barack Obama At Same Point In Presidency

Breitbart ^ | 12-23-2019 | Simon Kent
Posted on 12/23/2019, 10:23:53 AM by blam

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has soared past that of ex-President Barack Obama’s at the same point in his administration, defying negative sterotypes driven by opponents as he became only the third president in U.S. history to be impeached.

Trump’s job approval rating 151 weeks into his presidency sits at 45 percent, as revealed by a Gallup poll last Wednesday. That puts Trump three points higher than the 42 percent approval rating Gallup found for Obama at the same point of his presidency.

Gallup’s poll recorded a similar job disapproval rating for both presidents 151 weeks into their administrations. Some 51 percent of voters said they disapprove of Trump’s performance in a Gallup poll conducted Dec. 2-15, compared with 50 percent of voters saying they disapproved of Obama’s performance in a Dec. 12-18, 2011 Gallup poll.

Trump’s approval rating has climbed six percentage points since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi opened an impeachment inquiry against him in September.

House Democrats subsequently voted to impeach President Donald Trump last Wednesday after the House passed article one of H.R. 755, which charges Trump with abusing the office of the presidency.

Now the House has passed articles of impeachment, the Senate will convene a trial to determine if the president should be removed from office.

They hated President Bush for this also. Love him or loathe him, he actually did stop drinking and partying and did not like the cocktail circuit. The press and local lobbyists really had it in for him.

Pure and laughable BS. The best parties are at the embassies anyway. Anyone that counts just goes to them.

I used to make a lot of money playing in a jazz quintet, we did seasonal music and we worked quite a bit during the season at Holiday parties at different agencies and firms, lobbiests, hospital staffs. It was a lot of fun the food was great cuz we got to hit the buffet too. The rest of the year we would do an occasional wedding, a festival or two, Bar Mitzvah, stuff like that it wasn’t too taxing and it wasn’t full time but the work kept my chops up.

Great point. It’s not Trump casting that “pall” — it’s the uncivil and downright nasty leftists who would confront someone at a Christmas party who are doing that.

Maybe it is time to follow CRISWELL PREDICTS and move the US capitol to Wichita, Kansas.

Precisely. Who cast the pall? The behavior of the media is the root cause here, not Mr Trump.
