Sen. Elizabeth Warren has put a crackdown on Washington’s lobbying industry at the heart of her 2020 candidacy, arguing that she couldn’t enact much of her liberal legislative agenda as president unless she first curbed the influence of lobbyists and corporations.
Running against Washington is a longstanding campaign strategy employed by Republicans and Democrats. But the Massachusetts Democrat has put forth a unique and sweeping set of new rules, including a tax on companies that spend heavily on lobbying, as well as restrictions to keep people from cycling between certain public-service jobs and the influence world.
It is a vision that could run into roadblocks in Congress and the courts, potentially stymieing her policy agenda before it gets off the ground. Staring down that reality, Ms. Warren has already begun saying on the campaign trail that as president she could take executive action to achieve more modest goals.
Facing a dip in polls, Ms. Warren is looking to refocus her campaign around what she portrays as corruption in Washington. In recent months, criticism of her Medicare for All plan has slowed her momentum in the 2020 race.
In Thursday night’s debate, she said: “If we don’t attack the corruption first…then we’re not going to be able to make the changes we need to make on climate, on gun safety, on drug pricing, on all of the big problems that face us.”
Among Ms. Warren’s most ambitious ideas: A ban on presidents, vice presidents, members of Congress, federal judges and cabinet secretaries from ever becoming lobbyists—a popular next step for former government officials. Of the roughly 100 lawmakers who left office after the 2018 midterm elections, at least 23 have landed jobs at lobbying firms, according to the nonprofit Center for Responsive Politics.
She also would prohibit lobbying for foreign governments

It's corrupt when publicly funded universities violate the 14th Amendment by employing racial preferences. It's corrupt when Pocahontas says she's an American Indian to benefit from those preferences. It's corrupt when she promises lots of new handouts paid for by a small fraction of the population, especially through an unconstitutional wealth tax.

I call BS. Obama said the same thing. He didn’t mean it.
There were going to be no lobbyists in his administration. It was going to be the most transparent ever.
Obama’s ears were always open to those in his pet groups. CAIR had a front-row seat. Solyndra was a payoff to supporters who had made a bad investment. Etc, Etc.

It still ticks me off that Paul Ryan and his 40 thieves baled out on President Trump, and are now profiting in the lobbying industry.
Has she introduced any of those rules into legislation as Senator?
What she wants is for the government to have total control without folks being able to interfere. If you want to curtail lobbying, then cut back government power and spending and watch the corporate lobbyist disappear and go find productive jobs.
Hundred years ago there weren’t many lobbyist because the federal pie was measly.

(At least HALF of the reason that our government is so utterly CORRUPT is the BUYING of Congress-CRITTERS by lobbyists.)
SOLICITING, OFFERING or ACCEPTING “anything of value” of/to/from an appointed or elected government official should be a FELONY with a MANDATED minimum of ten years in federal prison.
(Even giving a CHEESEBURGER & a COKE to attempt to influence any government official SHOULD BE illegal.)
We also need TO LIMIT every elected or appointed official in DC to no more than a lifetime tenure of EIGHT years & prohibit any attempt by former government officials from contacting any other agency or government official for a minimum of 10 years after they leave their office of public trust & previous government position of authority.

I can't think of any.
