The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) said Friday her team plans to launch an investigation into alleged war crimes committed in the Palestinian territories, drawing a sharp rebuke from Israel.
In a statement, ICC Prosecutor Fatou Besouda said there was a “reasonable basis” for an investigation.
“In brief, I am satisfied that war crimes have been or are being committed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip,” she said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the announcement by the Hague-based court as a “dark day for truth and justice.”
“The ICC prosecutor’s decision has turned the International Criminal Court into a political tool to delegitimize the State of Israel,” he said.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed move as “long overdue.” …

What’s an International court? Oh that’s right- it’s a wroldwide court for nations that aren’t sovereign enough to stand up to them!
Hey there International court- any condemnation towards palestine for trying to murder Jews in cold blood? No? Didn’t think so!
and that would not necessarily be a bad thing, there being no Canada or mexico.

At civilian populations. And if you really stop to think about it, Israel has spent a fortune (jointly with the US) to develop anti-rocket and anti-missile defenses. Thankfully they can knock most of the projectiles out of the sky. If they hadn’t developed this technology and the rockets actually did cause massive Israeli civilian casualties, the responses would have been far more deadly and destructive than anything this ICC thinks it has discovered.
In other words, they need to give some credit to Israel. They have to divert a lot of resources to defend the country from these rogue terrorist groups and in so doing they are able to avoid having to do major incursions, displacement of people, destruction of infrastructure, blockades etc that would harm the Palestinian civilian population. If it were any other country that couldn’t stop many of the rockets there would have been major armed conflict by now with many dead on both sides.
