What is the purpose of NATO?
If this is just a ho-hum international commercial transaction, then maybe we don’t need NATO. While NATO exists, it’s pretty questionable.

Apparently it’s to protect trade agreements between the US and Europe exclusive of Russia.
We need NATO to protect Western Europe from the Soviet Union, so....
