Oh I wish my dear Mother were alive to see this!
She HATED those squiggly light bulbs and had a secret stash of incandescent bulbs so she could see to read her beloved books.
One of our sons is a double engineer, electrical and mechanical, and his company loaded up on the regular bulbs.
He and his bro, personally did that. We loaded up on the old bulbs and still have a few left.
I think it was partially the quality of the light, but also Mom hated the gub’mint telling her what she could or could not purchase.
You can still buy any incandescent, by the case, on Amazon. I bought locals stores out, years ago, and am set for another 100yrs. Heh.
We bought a dozen of those about 11 years ago. Quite a few never lasted 1 year. After all this time, 3 have survived and amazingly the one in the kitchen has run almost continuously since purchase. Every once in a while I think it finally burned out, but nope, the power was off!
