In the wake of the House's historic vote to impeach President Donald Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declined to answer questions about the timing of when she plans to deliver the articles to the Senate for trial.
Speaking at a press conference late Wednesday, Pelosi declined to commit to naming the House impeachment managers -- a move that could potentially delay a Senate trial.
The impeachment managers will present the House's case at the Senate trial and the articles cannot be transmitted without managers being named.

"We cannot name managers until we see what the process is on the Senate side, and I would hope that that will be soon," Pelosi said. "So far we haven't seen anything that looks fair to us, so hopefully it will be fairer and when we see what that is, we'll send our managers."

"We're not having that discussion. We have done what we have set out to do. The House has acted on a very sad day to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States," she said. "So, we will make our decision as to when we're going to send when we see what they're doing on the Senate side, but that's a decision that we will make jointly."

"I said we're not sending it tonight because it's difficult to determine who the managers would be until we see the arena in which we will be participating," the House speaker said. "That's all I said. I never raised the prospect -- we'll see when they come forward. It's up to the Senate to say what their rules will be. My colleagues didn't want to say anything about this because it is, you know, this is a serious matter."

Pelosi agrees US faces constitutional crisis
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday said she agreed with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler's (D-N.Y.) assertion that the U.S. is currently facing a "constitutional crisis" after the panel voted to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress.
"Yes, I do agree with Chairman Nadler," Pelosi said during a press conference in the Capitol, "because the administration has decided that they're not going to honor their oath of office."
Yet Pelosi said even a constitutional crisis is not grounds to launch impeachment hearings against the president before Nadler and the heads of the other investigative committees are able to gather more evidence - and convince more voters - that such a step is necessary.
"This is very methodical, it's very Constitution-based, it's very law-based, it's very factually based," she said. "It's not about pressure, it's about patriotism."
Pelosi's remarks came a day after the Judiciary Committee voted along strict party lines to hold Barr in contempt for his refusal to comply with the panels subpoenas seeking an unredacted version of special counsel Robert Muellers report on Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
San Fran Gran Nan better haul arse.
I dont know if it’s possible to feel more contempt than i already have for that cadaverous female.
These are the tactics taught her at her father’s knee. Her family ran Baltimore for 20 years and grew wealthy. She has run Congress for 20 years and grown wealthy. This is corruption at its finest.
Nancy's in DC via the SanFran Democrap machine, then built a $100 Million empire through graft and government (read taxpayers') theft.
<><> Bigtime quid pro quo: " Nanzi flexed her muscles to convince the local board through threats of funding cuts to get a building permit."
<><> Pelosis primary cash machines are the Presidio and beneficial zoning for her real estate/grape growing businesses.
<><>Pelosi s relatives are beneficiaries of her gvt graft;
<><> Her most lucrative business is the Presidio. The famous Army officers quarters connected to the Golden Gate park, the scene of numerous movies; a valuable piece of land became an exclusive industrial park.
<><> Pelosi was instrumental in turning the piece of the park over to private maintenance ironically called the Presidio Trust, in which shes a primary owner. She had we taxpayers invest $200 Million.
<><> The Presidio is Enron w/o the oversight, a cash cow for Pelosi and her partners in the SF political machine.
<><>Nanzi had it written into the law there would be no verification or oversight; nobody knows what the leased property earns.
<><> Pelosis nephew conveniently owned" the land rights to the Presidio property when it was turned over to the private sector.
What is the possibility she will sit on it most of the year waiting to see if Republicans lose the Senate then assuming Trump does get re-elected, she conveniently moves it to the Senate just in time for the new leader of the Senate, Chuck Schumer, to take over the trial.
Nanzis words are meaningless......so blaming the Senate rules for her withholding the articles is balderdash.
She nailed the votes she needed by promising her caucus huge approval numbers whereby theyd sail to reelection victory by voting for impeachment.
That never happened.
Shes literally desperate to find a way to increase the numbers.
Obstruction!
I have seen suggestions that her son is not entirely innocent in his own Ukraine gas position.
Peloser cant even spell Konnstitoooshun, let alone know what it means.
Newsflash Nancy...You don’t control the rules of the Senate!
Take THAT!!!!!
...suggestions that her son is not entirely innocent...

I would characterize the available information as *indicative*, rather than *suggestive*.
Could be her fear is that Ukraine corruption goes on trial in the senate?
I guess they will be a no show at the trail and acquittal in the Senate.
Release the snapping turtle!
McConnell should give the date to hold the trial. If the material isn’t there in time, acquit.
By the Senate? No.
I disagree. He should simply say that senate rules and procedure will be followed when the Hosue sends over the managers. Put the heat back in nancy's lap. The senate rules are fair, and the senate, unlike the House, actually has rules for how to handle an impeachment.
Senate Manual - 113th Congress (most recent available online)
Conduct of Impeachment Trials starts on page 223
Mitch should give her 24 hours.......hand them over........ or be charged with obstruction of justice.
hat tip DoughtyOne
Nancy has balked at providing them, so she, herself, has publicly confirmed that she is
expected to formally present the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for review....and the trial.
