I’ve gone back and forth on this and I think I’m now thinking that this should be days not weeks. We need to stop making this circus appear credible, it isn’t.

The Clinton trial has a good pattern. Each side was allowed to present its case (case and then defense), and was allowed a time certain for that. That process took a little more than a week.

There was a Q&A period for senators, not much of that used. Then the trial was paused while a committee or two went and got additional evidence, in private. Those results cam back when the trial was resumed, a couple weeks later.

At any rate, I'm with you. This should not take weeks. That said, both sides must be given a chance to present. This should not be a dismissal after only the House presents its case against.

The House GOP has argued why the conduct is not a high crime and misdemeanor. some of that will inevitably be repeated, but what has not been presented is evidence of why it was reasonable for Trump to have the suspicions he had.
