Try? No. They WILL make accusation by innuendo, speculation, and all form of dishonesty. This has been going on for years. Example: “Russia, if you have the files, release them” is held out as proof of being an election-throwing conspiracy with a foreign power.
If only republicans would try to get in front of this by having their own come out with accusations from years ago against prominent leftists.
