I think the people inside the beltway have no idea how disillusioned the public (or at least, a large portion of it) has become with the entire legal and judicial system.
And they don’t seem to realize — or care — how that will affect the future.
Most of the public is breezily watching Dancing with the Stars while their civil liberties melt away. Only when their phones are turned off by a terrorist EMP blast will they wake from their stupor.
Virtually none of the population has a clue what an EMP is.
And many not even then, their few brain cells having long ago been fried by antisocial media and leftard public skool indoctrination.
