Thanks. That is the most complete article I've seen on the Durham investigation. It says this:

Barr also emphasized that Durham is being meticulous and will leave it to the U.S. attorney to decide whether he will issue a final report or make a public presentation.

So, there is at least the possibility that he will make a report, but then also, obviously, the possibility that he will not. At least that is how I interpret this.

So, it appears he does have a bit of a "special counsel" role, after all.

Anything other than indictments is pointless. Look at how the IG report has been spun. Comey said it "completely vindicated him" and even though Horowitz said no it didn't like had made it around the world, while the truth was still putting its pants on.

Nothing short of seeing the guilty in leg-irons and jumpsuits is ever going to convince the great unwashed masses that the Deep State and Obama admin did anything wrong.

I hope Durham indicts the hell out of a lot of people, but if he can't, I don't really care what he does. More talk-talk is meaningless.

I think Judge Sullivan wanted to avoid death.

If the US Dept of Justice confiscated without cause all of the cell phones and computers belonging to Flynn's son who merely worked for his dad, and when that same Dept. gets a secret Court's search warrant to spy on that son, and when the same DOJ still can't make the General fold before the press corps publishes the Strozk/Page text messages, and thus DOJ finally threatened, literally warned Flynn that he and his beloved wife will get “the Manafort Treatment”, what makes any sentient being think that the same US Dept of Justice wouldn't threaten the Judge in this case?

All along, I believed Judge Sullivan understood what had happened; Powell's Motions built a case that was crystal clear and offered evidence the DOJ was handing her piecemeal, evidence that told the Judge the real story behind Flynn's insistence on pleading guilty which confounded the Judge. Now Sullivan knows this is Ted Steven's redux. But the DOJ destroyed Stevens to get Obamacare passed. Imagine a decade later, how much more out of control the corruption and violence had grown? Judge did what Lt. General Flynn did and saved his life and maybe innocent others’.

That's a really depressing interpretation of things. It's possibly, but I kinda doubt it. Page and Strzok text messages hardly show them as the "Killer Elite" or even connected with them.

Sullivan is a cantankerous old fool. He's been all over the place on this case, remember when he called Flynn a "traitor" in open court, and then took it back. There is no allegation, even in the charges, that Flynn was a traitor to anyone, so that was totally off base.

He's real old, his thinking ability might be in decline, and they might not have been that great to start with. He admittedly go hoodwinked in the Sen. Stevens case, a smarter judge would have seen all that.

He's a black judge. That means he's been a beneficiary of affirmative action his whole career, which he's at the end of, thankfully.

He was put on the local courts in D.C. by Reagan and Bush, but Clinton is the one who made him a Federal judge. It's hard to say where his political sympathies lie.

I well understand and cannot argue in theory what you say.

I've been around Free Republic since the early years of Clinton's Presidency, when we watched Bill and Hill break laws, unleash violence, destroy lives under cover of authority, teflon indeed.

My summation of the Flynn case is strictly based upon the facts I've learned from reading every word of Sidney Powell's Motions to Compel Production of Brady Material and listening to every interview she's given...she has gotten the facts straight from the horse's mouth, Mike Flynn's, so that's why I started paying very close attention.

It hasn't been easy reading the legalese. For an attorney, she writes beautifully so it was actually enlightening and inspiring. She and Flynn were telling the Public the rest of the story. The worst evil inflicted on all of us is depriving General Flynn of his voice. He is not a rule breaker, thus he will not speak up to defend himself directly due to DOJ’s restriction on his civil liberties, including basically house arrest!

So I've only repeated in my above summation the facts that he is now willing to tell us through his attorney. As her Motions developed the narrative over several months, it became clear to me that the full force of the swamp will press down on this one Federal Judge. And like I said, Weismann, Comey, Obama, Clintons, all are vicious thugs who will stop at nothing to achieve their ends. Everyone has received death threats lately including random bloggers, twitter users, anyone who dares utter a pro-Trump opinion. I had occasion to be in touch with FBI many years ago due to threats; FBI advised not to reveal such threats publicly. That used to be standard advise given to everyone who receives death threats.

All standards of decorum are dropped these days. Is it depressing? Not anymore so than 8 years of financial and moral Depression under Obama. No more so than when Elian Gonzalez was grabbed by FBI and shipped back to that killer Castro. Facing this decline in our beloved America has been depressing to the max! Unexpectedly, Trump decided to run and I was on board from day 1 because I knew he is a man who will return Free to Free Speech, he is a man who cannot be bought, and he has shown us that he is a man without fear of what people think of him. Happily, Trump is buying time for us to put up one last fight. So much is against our succeeding before the final end with the next Democrat Presidency which will usher in a complete dictatorship via surveillance electronically. And that's why Flynn had to go first--he is a man who understood and witnessed the surveillance State illegally spying upon its own citizens and planned to stop it!

I cherish every extra day of peace and non-harassment by our government knowing one man has taken the fight to the Clinton Mafia and now Obama Mafia--the destroyers of life and liberty. In his next term in office, he will need to take on the monopoly on ideas tightly controlled by the professors in our colleges. That's where the foundational battle will be waged. That's my take on it. I am hopeful in the short run, and do whatever I can in my limited life to persuade open minds to the facts as I know them!
