I’m guessing the criteria was what the prosecutor thought he could get a conviction on without jury nullification from a jury pool that is over 1/3rd black.

Some hat triggered them? Funny...in the mid-Seventies, I was attacked by four or five black sailors on the base I was stationed at in the USN, and it started off by one of them kicking me in the butt, and when I turned around to confront him and said "Why did you do that?" he said "I don't like your hat."

When I told him that that was too bad, and we were going to have it out, his friends appeared from around the corner of the building, surrounded me. I took a swing at one, and a beating on me ensued. I wasn't hurt, I think they were too drunk to get a good kick in on me after I went down, and I managed to break free and grab a swab to fend them off with.

But it always puzzled me, and I assumed (correctly, IMO) that they were just looking for a white guy to beat on.

For years, it never occurred to me what the guy supposedly didn't like about my hat. It was simply a squadron hat with the designation on the front, VA-46.

Didn't like my squadron I guessed? Had some kind of grudge? It was only recently that I realized it, feeling a bit dense in the process.

My squadron was VA-46, and it was a Scottish themed squadron, we had tartan painted on our planes along with a Scottish herald and a motto "Vincere Vela's Mori" (translating to either "Victory or Death" or "Conquer or Die")

The squadron was named "The Clansmen".

LOL, for many of the intervening years since I was attacked, I never connected the possibility that the guy and his buddies thought "Clansmen" was equivalent to "Klansmen". I admit to feeling a bit dense about that when it did occur.

You are both correct, but the fact is (as you both acknowledge and point out) that the stupid laws are applied more towards whites on blacks even though the vast majority of interracial crimes involve blacks as perpetrators, and often for racially motivated reasons.

Of course not, it was black on white. If a black kid was wearing a BLM t-shirt and was beaten up over it then that’d be a hate crime.

My guess is that all five of those little predators will eventually be killed by other predators from their own community, and I’m okay with that. It’s sad to see those lives wasted, but the waste has already occurred. All we can hope for is to solve the problem with a minimum of additional damage to innocent victims.

Of course this incident doesn’t meet the qualifications to be a Hate Crime.The perp was not a white male.

If it was it would have been an automatic hate crime.

They need to dispose of these hate crime laws.All violent crimes are done out of Hate.

Hamilton County site shows only 2 schools - 1 elem./1 high/no middle. The bus victim can’t change schools to avoid his tormentors. No listing of an “alternative school” for miscreant kids. I bet homeschooling is popular in Jasper, FL.

From the viewpoint of the law, you are correct. Whites and legal gun owners are now the equivalent in the United States to what the Jews were in Hitler's Germany.

If you don't believe this, go back and read the adjectives used to describe the Jews in Hitler's Germany. Then look at the adjectives used to describe Whites in the United States today. What both the Whites and Jews have/had in common is that both were in denial[refused to face the facts] the Jews until it was too late for them. The Whites in America still have time to face reality and address it. But time is running out.
