Remain in Mexico has a 0.1 percent asylum grant rate
San Diego Union Tribune ^ | December 15th, 2019 | GUSTAVO SOLIS

It has been almost a year since the government began sending asylum seekers back to Mexico and only 11 people have been granted asylum. That accounts for a grant rate of less than one percent...

Over the last year, in the name of national security, those changes have made it increasingly difficult for migrants to win asylum cases in the U.S. The latest change has effectively made the majority of non-Mexican migrants ineligible for asylum, according to lawyers and activists.

One policy in particular, called Migrant Protection Protocols or Remain in Mexico, has made it nearly impossible for migrants to receive asylum.

Data shows that as of September, of the more than 47,000 people in the program, fewer than 10,000 had completed their cases. Of that group, 5,085 cases were denied while 4,471 cases were dismissed without a decision being made — mostly on procedural grounds.

Only 11 cases — or 0.1 percent of all completed cases — resulted in asylum being granted, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University.

I am still not tired of winning. May God bless President Donald Trump for his next five years in office, and God bless America!

Sooooo, it’s working marvelously? Is that what they’re saying? Because if I’m supposed to be sympathetic to these asylum scammers being denied entry into our country, I’m not.
How many asylum seekers go on to be doctors? Lawyers? Successful small business owners? Assimilated, grateful, productive citizens? I didn’t think so. Boo friggin hoo

YES! About damn time. For God's sake by whom and when was it ever decided that America is Motel 6 for the whole damn world? If Trump is re-elected, God willing, he should push for at least a one or two moratorium on legal immigration.

I was willing to believe a much higher rate of 1 percent. I’ll take it!

That’s funny. The Dims and the MSM have a 0.1% success rate in telling the truth.

Is there any reason Mexico can’t give them asylum?

This is so sad. Los Angeles desperately needs a few million more cars on the road. Doubling the student teacher ratio with illiterate children would help too

Outrageous!! That figure, IMHO, is still a "flood" that needs to be stopped... IMHO, any "asylum-grant" rate greater than 0.00000001 is totally unacceptable...

Particularly until the "deportation-grant" rate for the 30-to-50 million criminal invaders already here is running about 80-to-90 percent...

Considering that 99.9% (or more) are economic migrants, it seems that 0.1% would be appropriate.

As if every person with a brain didn’t know that 99.9% were just here for economic gain, including “free stuff” and illegal activities. If the OTM’s just needed to “escape persecution”, they would have achieved that once they reached the first border, and from that point were just looking for a better deal, and more free stuff....
