Oprah attempted programs for young black girls here in the US....it failed because the kids didn’t want to do the ‘work’ required to change. Oprah took it to Africa to help girls there who are flourishing and eager to learn.

Now I’m not a fan of Oprah however her experience at trying to help US girls and discovering that the will to learn and apply themselves just ‘isn’t there’ regardless of the approach revealed where the problem is.
