Judge: 234K Wisconsin voter registrations should be tossed

Some of the highest percentages of voters who could be tossed would be in Wisconsin’s two largest cities and areas with college campuses, epicenters of Democratic support, a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel analysis found. Milwaukee and Madison, the largest cities and base of Democratic support, account for 23% of the letters that were sent to voters who may have moved. More than half of the letters went to voters in municipalities where Democrat Hillary Clinton defeated Trump in 2016, the analysis found.

As of Dec. 5, only about 16,500 of those who received the mailing had registered at their new address. More than 170,000 hadn't responded, and the postal service was unable to deliver notifications to nearly 60,000 voters.

Eliminating fraud one state at a time.

The legislature wrote a reasonable law. If you haven't voted in a location for some time and don't respond to mailimgs, you likely don't live there anymore.

And with elimination of fraud, there goes the "blue wall."

You might also have left for the winter period, and gone to your Arizona address where you live six months out of the year, and are registered to vote there (as well). This is why there ought to be a national register of voting data.

Most presidential elections in Wisconsin are decided by about 15k votes.

The order will be stayed and the appeal will last past the next election. Some predictions are just too easy.

It will be if there is a hair-pulling, projectile vomit, explosive diarrhea, emotional response from the DNC that will give away their +70 year M.O. of how they kept Democrats always winning in municipal areas.

With President Trump at the helm, I have some confidence that it will be fast tracked to the Supreme Court and upheld.

"should be tossed"? Is this a real judge? My experience is that American judges feel themselves so omnipotent and holy and above everyone else that they would order the registrations tossed.

In fact, this is what should happen: just like you have to re-apply for your diver license every so many years, the same should be for voter registration...

What does this have to do with Trump?

This is a state issue and if a court does not permit the purging of voter rolls, it is the state that would appeal to a higher court, not Trump.

And even if Trump could be involved, the Supreme Court hears cases when and if they want to. Trump has absolutely no say in which cases the Supreme Court hears and when the Court hears them.

Please read your civics books. I am always amazed at how many people think Trump runs everything. He doesn't.

Per the Constitution, each branch is equal and Trump has nothing to do with how the Supreme Court is run. Zero say. If Trump does have a case in the court system that actually affects Trump, such as one of his executive orders, the solicitor general can ask the Supreme Court to expedite the case, and it has said no more than it has said yes. The SC wants the cases to go through the normal appellate court process.

There have been scores and scores of court cases involving purging voter rolls over the decades. This one is not unique and won't get any special attention.

I get all of that and you're right. I just see a lot more fight in the GOP now with President Trump at the helm.

And if it does go to the Supreme Court, I like our chances.

The Democrats on the Board will never go along with sensible voter regulations. They should be clamoring for the laws to be upheld. The Republicans will. Why is it that the Dems are always on the wrong side? ALWAYS!

President Trump does not control the judiciary.

I get that, but the GOP is showing a lot more fight with him at the helm.

Every year, there is election registration recruitment on college campuses. Democrats want out-of-state students to contaminate the local electorate. No doubt many of these politically-active students who register and vote locally also vote absentee back at Mom’s address. I have no doubt many of these purged “voters” are former students who have graduated. Their abandoned registrations represent an untapped reservoir of soon to be “found” votes, when a Republican is winning.

It has to do with Trump because he ran on cleaning up the voting rolls. Besides, you don’t believe for minute that Wisconsin will do it, do you?

The democrats software pick all those out and ensure that many of them become votes. Just part of the way they do fraud on the American people.
