My point is more that US portray itself as a champion of free market and free enterprise. This situation spoils that image big time.
Once again I am all for fixing trade balance but there are better ways to do it.

You are irrefutably correct but we need to admit there is a great deal of businesses producing much higher added value than farming.

I don’t disagree.

Trump, as is his history, is loyal to those who are loyal to him.

Many here have no idea how their betrayal by Clinton, Bush, and Obama has driven many out of business needlessly.

That’s a whole generation of farmers.

It is important to keep those who produce our food strong, especially financially, something that hasn’t happened for decades.

I try to buy USA only; even if it cost more.

Give your neighbors a job. Buy USA.

Yep, a much better idea. Much better than state-funded protectionism which hurts the US reputation and produces incentives for foreign powers to build trade barriers against US exports.

For all the criticism Trump is getting one thing you have to admire is that he is the first president on memory who takes his promises seriously. He is trying to deliver despite all the sabotage from both parties.

I call balls and strikes like I see them. The winners are spoiled farmers, illegal aliens and wall street.

That farmers need a great many low-skilled farm hands is beyond dispute. Accordingly, the House was just recently looking at another amnesty bill for farm workers.

And farmers, just like any other profession: plumbers, roofers, etc. better know what they are doing in their respective field; that doesn’t make them any smarter or more important than others beyond a certain point.

I don’t engage with pigs, but felt I should make one exception with this post.

LOl.

I used to raise pigs.

15,000 a year, a quarter million before I sold the business.
