A bipartisan defense budget agreement will authorize the creation of the Space Force.
The Space Force will be, like the Army or Air Force, a distinct military service under the Pentagon.
The service will take over space functions from existing services, wielding them into a single independent branch overseen by a Chief of Space Operations.
Its really happening. A bipartisan budget agreement for 2020 will see the creation of a new branch of the military specifically oriented towards space. The United States Space Force will be the first new service branch in more than 60 years, tasked to ensure Americas freedom to operate in outer spaceor take space away from somebody else.

That may be true as well, but Individual Mobilization Assistant what what I was going for...
Ya wanna wait until they show up and stompus?
Luddite!
I got snowed in at Cheyenne Mountain in 1978. Spent 3 days buttoned up.
We ran out of food! Not because Cheyenne Mountain doesn’t have emergency rations, but the SDC commander didn’t want to break into the more expensive long term storage items. Anyway, plenty of food in the vending machines until the snowplows broke down the drifts so our relief could arrive.
Terrible winter.
Same for me in 29... except only one mess dress... retired just before one CSAF decided we needed to look more like airline employee’s.
Incorrect headline. The Space Force will be the 5th branch.
Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy and Space Force.
The Marine Corp. is under the umbrella of the Navy, not a separate branch. The SEALS are comprised of both Marines and Sailors. Navy Procurement handles defense industry contracts for the Marines.
I held out long enough on the rank on your sleeve thing that that CSAF retired and they unrang the bell.
I was already retired, but hated to see his successor retire the way he did. A true man of integrity. Hard to believe they were both Misty FACs and so different. Then again, one was full of bean soup!
