“The activities we found here don’t vindicate anybody who touched this,” Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz testified Wednesday — as direct a slap at former FBI chief Jim Comey as you could ask for.
Horowitz was walking the Senate Judiciary Committee through his report on FBI and Justice Department malfeasance in Crossfire Hurricane, the investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign. Bottom line, as Sen. John Kennedy put it: Misfire Hurricane would’ve been more accurate.
The outrages went far beyond the “17 significant errors or omissions” in applications to spy on onetime Trump foreign-policy adviser Carter Page. Horowitz found FBI violations “from top to bottom.”

The fact that James Comedy would so immediately write an op-ed claiming vindication suggests to me the guy has been absolutely shitting in his pants all year about getting busted. Now he made it even worse for himself. Bwa ha ha ha!

When asked specific questions, he was very clear that the FBI had screwed up. He just said it wasn't his job to decide whether it was a willing conspiracy or incredible incompetence; just to list the facts.
When Ted Cruz asked him whether it was true that an FBI lawyer falsified documents to get FISA approval, he calmly and unequivocally said, "Yes."
One would expect outrage over evidence of corruption in his organization and a vow to clean house immediately, to expunge the organization from any and all wrong doers and all corruption, and to assure that the organization is a pristine bastion of integrity.
Were I confronted with evidence of corruption and lack of integrity in an organization under my supervision, I would immediately conduct a thorough, uncompromising, and truth seeking investigation of the entire organization to assure its highest integrity.
Is Wray doing that?
Comey knows unless he is indicted, prosecuted and at risk of jail he can say anything and MSM will back him up. The circle of people he benefits from will not turn on him. He is safe.
