I see good old (fictional) Patrick Bateman attended some pretty great schools (Phillips Exeter Academy, Harvard College, and Harvard Business School).

I wonder what could explain his less than insightful, some would say, "meaningless" prose.

;-)

Wealthy connected family, vain, full of hate, identity crisis, materialism, being programmed by pop culture (Only liked the established bands he listened to once they hit the top 10), only believes in what is popular/issues of the day to make himself look smart and "in the know", when challenged comes up with excuses (Return video tapes), and is protected by his social class despite being unimportant to certain people while committing some heinous crimes (In his head). This encourages the schizotypal personality disorder, however, due to living a boring, mundane, and shallow existence he needs to makeup stuff inside his head to cope due to the void caused by nihilism.

A protagonist for satirizing the Wall Street self-absorbed yuppie culture.
