A flesh-eating bacteria associated with black-tar heroin has taken the lives of seven people in San Diego within the last two months. Now, the San Diego County Health and Human Services is warning health officials to stay cautious.
According to the health department, these seven people died from myonecrosis, a severe infection that destroys muscle tissue. All of them were between the ages of 19 to 57, and five were male.
According to the New York Times, the seven deceased victims were "among nine people admitted between Oct. 2 and Nov. 24 to county hospitals with the condition after injecting black-tar heroin, a dark, sticky drug that often contains impurities resulting from crude processing methods."

Im sorry, but San Diego delightful? Or are you just referring to the climate?
And nobody wants to die, in Van Nuys.
Crazy to think that shooting up is so prevalent among young adults these days. Tank goodness I never saw it growing up.
Some problems solve themselves.
“”sticky drug that often contains impurities resulting from crude processing methods.””
For goodness sake! Let’s make sure that the processing methods are sanitary and meet all government standards. Can’t have this going on! That’s the least we can do for these poor addicts! If they can’t meet the standards, then we can just shut them down. Problem solved! Well, except for those who died - too bad!
“”folks who live in one of the most delightful cities in America””
It truly is...in so many ways. We moved out of CA in 2006 and our last stop down from OC was in San Diego and I really hated to leave it behind. I made my husband stop at every scenic pull out so I could take pictures of the Pacific Ocean for the very last time. Spent the night there to say goodbye to my husband’s stepmother in the morning but she didn’t know us. Last time to see her and CA.
I should have noted that it was a delightful place to live FRom 1966 until the late 1980s. I left in 1994 when it was becoming more and more uninhabital.
There is not enough money in Christendom to get me to move back to Kali-Fornia.
HST, if you HAVE to live in Kali-Fornia, San Diego is about as nice as you can get!
Southern California.
A deliberately engineered third world country.
Kurt Schlichter’s predictions in spades.
Most of the heroin/fentanyl addicts start with something more attractive (pills) under peer pressure. Some who start with club drugs like ecstasy are given something to take the edge of paranoia away, like Xanax, fake Xanax, opioids or opates. Even meth is being sold more in pretty pill form for the girls.
If they’re high on marijuana and maybe even a little booze to take the leading paranoid edge off of the pot, the decision to try something different is much easier, especially within a group of people bragging about their experiences with other drugs. Most heroin/fentanyl addicts started with lighter, more popular drugs.
Whether we find it sad or appropriate, actions have consequences that cannot be legislated away. It’s real life.
San Diego has a lot to offer, depending on what you want. I prefer walking on the beach instead of injecting black tar heroin into my arm.
It will be passed along to an innocent person due to all the SH*T piling up on the streets of California. Thanks libs
One of the dead was 57.
Although I do remember the Time Magazine cover "Heroin Hits the Young" from the early 1970s. Perhaps that guy started around that time?
Aided by a lot of spin-dry "rehabs"?
Give ‘em a syringe full of Decon and cut to the chase.
There is a Russian equivalent of this phenomenon.
Their narcotic of choice is a Desmorphine commonly known as Krokodil, a flesh eating drug.
It is occasionally seen here in the states.
Black tar heroin is usually from Mexico. They don’t care out “repeat customers”. There are enough American fools to take their place, and most live in California. Part of Gov. Newsome’s population control and relocation (to the cemetery) plan.
Does this bacterial outbreak now make the injection of heroin unsafe?

.....” Krokodil, a flesh eating drug”....
I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what they took....it’s a home-made heroin substitute of iodine, lighter fluid and industrial cleaning oil....a drug for the poor when they can’t pay for heroin.
Photos of krokodil addicts are disturbing in the extreme. Flesh goes grey and peels away to leave bones exposed. People literally rot to death.....also causes the strongest levels of addiction and is the hardest to cure....if they try to go off it, even with help the pain can last up to a month, and it’s unbearable, they have to be injected with extremely strong tranquilisers just to keep them from passing out from the pain.
Gradual disintegration from Krokodil or similar compounds;
I wouldn’t wish such a fate on even my worst enemy.
Not that. It may be like slowly passing through a wood chipper. I couldn’t do that to anyone. At least I doubt it.
it’s about the worst way one could die....and the high is short lived so a Krokodil addict spends ‘all’ his time cooking and preparing his next hit. It’s a truly miserable lifestyle few escape from.
I did quite a bit of research about it when it was at his height in Russia. The US jumped ahead of it when they banned selling codine type tablets unless you had a perscription. It was harder to enforce in Russia when they tried it.
It’s a fast killer....usually an addict has one to two years before he’s dead.
