Honestly since we are not fixing the real root of the immigration problem, i anm not bothered by this new requirement.
No GREEN Cards!
What’s wrong with the braseros of old? If decent people want to come to the US and work, make it legal for them to do so without automatically granting them the rights of citizens or permanent residency. If is wasn’t for illegals in Wisconsin, there would be no dairy industry. They are mostly good, honest, decent, hard-working family people
Either chop cotton muchachos or go back to your native country.
Democrats, working hard to bring back slavery.
Can you say.....”Indentured Servitude”?
So indentured servants. Sweet!
The Democrat party is and always has been about legalizing slavery.
This is Mexico’s idea of job security
Next up: we all go back to mud huts, cuz they’re enviro-groovy
How about they figure out how to automate those jobs.
Gosh, National Review (a former conservative rag), it might cost employers more than hiring illegals!
I’m pretty sure that used to be called “indentured servitude” a couple of hundred years ago-and it is frowned upon now-will the ag workers have to live in primitive cabins on the plantation without leaving, too? Maybe I’m weird, but I think it is more sensible to make that ag/farm work part of another welfare-to-work program-pay the welfare takers to do that work-also make the work a minimum wage 1st job for teens-and college students in Summer-make them learn to really work for money-no need to import immigrants as virtual slaves-I grew up doing farm and ranch work on our family ranch-I learned to like making money and developed good work habits along with a liking for exercise and staying strong-I actually still have farm/ranch work skills if I need them...
The best way to melt the fragile little snowflakes and teach them to be useful people might be to make them work where there are no safe spaces with teddybears, crayons, naptimes or blankets...
So I can get a cute Mexican girl to come work “my fields” for the promise of a green card? Wooohooo!
Color me - can I still say that? - just a little skeptical.
Farm automation is still occurring.
I despise this crap.
I think I understand that they are using the horror word “slavery” to advocate free citizenship privileges for illegal aliens.
My question is about indentured servitude. You borrow enough to make an ocean crossing, which was a small fortune in those days. You pay it back in seven years, principal and interest. You work long hours, sunup to sundown, six days a week, during planting and harvest, but the hours are much less the rest of the year. All your living expenses, room and board, are provided during the life of the loan. Furthermore it is a voluntary arrangement, and at the end you owe nothing more and you are are fully legal in your new country.
Someone please correct me on this, with my thanks. Where am I wrong on the details and requirements of indentured servitude?
Anyway, this is a slavery that people were more than happy to enjoy. Expect the invasion to continue apace.
