I started using cellphones decades ago. Any caller who was not recognized didn’t get answered.
My wife got her first cell phone about a decade ago. Within a couple of days, she started not answering calls from who/what ever we didn’t know.
We got a non cell phone with caller id and blocker for our 2 former/now cable lines. We didn’t answer at least 12 unidentified calls today.
I posted basically what you posted below, years ago:
Fake news:
Americans largely do not answer phone calls from numbers not on their contact list and refuse to talk to people who come to their door.
There are no accurate polls.
I began screening out calls when my employer made me carry a phone. A rebranded HTC Wizard in 2008 if I recall correctly.
It doesn’t take people long to see the advantages of not talking to salesmen, pollsters, and other undesirable hucksters.
