They reported 50 people on the island
Are you saying none survived?
That’s what I just heard reported. With all those gases being released on a tiny island created by the volcano, 50 could be a low estimate.
From the various reports I've read there were ~50 people on the island when it blew. 23 were rescued and 5 of those people have died. If that is accurate that leaves ~27 unaccounted for.
