National Security Letters, requiring no judge to approve them, are just another police state tactic that Congress has approved. They should be illegal.
That is all clear. But how did Schiff do it? Only FBI or other FLE are authorized to issue NSLs.... no judge, no court needed. Did Schiff have FBI on the staff of the Intelligence Committee to execute these letters, or does Congress - on its own - have the ability to issue an NSL to AT&T and go on a shopping spree against political enemies? Was it voted on in secret like they have to vote on subpoenas?
