Figures a Democrat doesn’t understand how hard it is to change the Constitution.

What’s the catch? Always a catch with a POS like Clyburn.

Isn't it obvious? He's afraid of retaliation by Republicans against Democrat office holders!

Democrats want to remove impeachment to prevent the GOP from using it against a future Democrat President.

Will never happen. If Democrats can do it, they have no business telling Republicans they can’t.

Go f*ck yourself, James Cyburn. You made your bed and now go and lie down in it.

That is it exactly.

AND, it starts after the next election. They have kicked a few members out of the house in history, and with a majority, the republican can kick out the likes of Schiff, et al.

Remember Jim Traficant? For example?

Aw, just go all in Clyburn. . . fix it to where Democrats can impeach a Republican President, but Republicans can’t impeach a Democrat President.

The collective IQ of the Democratic party doesn’t add up enough to hit room temperature. Who are they to try to amend the Constitution? They aren’t fit to lick the bootstraps of the Founding Fathers.

Will be fun to watch Democrats scream their heads off when the next GOP House impeaches a Democrat President.

And Democrats’ only ground for opposing it will be pure partisan politics. Geez.

Does Clyburn fear that if impeachment fails to give the Democrats the Total and Final control they seek that it will come back to bite them? If so, then he would see a need to amend the Constitution.

Why can’t Republicans impeach a Democrat President? More Democrat double standards.

Then they wouldn’t be Democrats.

That is one amendment I would support. One term every elected office. No repeats.

2021, I think. The President seems to be uninterested in fixing the voting system and the Democrats this time will be making full use of their ability to manufacture all the votes they need to win each state from the Big cities they rule. It is a state function and the Federal Government probably cannot intervene but there must be something that can be done.

“What’s the catch? Always a catch with a POS like Clyburn.”

He’s worried about reprisals if a Democrat won in 2020 and the Republicans hold the senate and the house reverts to Republican control.

With a 5-4 SCOTUS, not only could the Democrats see their precedent implemented, but also the wrath of a Senate Judiciary committee. And there would be absolutely nothing they can do about it.

I think we are a decade away from that tipping point but I see it as having been passed ten years or so ago. Trump can slow the collapse and get us a few more years of apparent sanity but he can only get us a hiatus, a catching of a projecting shrub on the cliff-face. To turn it all around would require repeal of Civil Service and elimination of ALL agencies and Departments and Bureaus down to the original four and it would require the repeal of the 16th,17th, and 19th Amendments. Cannot be done short of a dictatorial interregnum which would leave its own problems.

As long as there are Democrats, we need impeachment.

One problem though, they already went there and set the low blow example and precedent. No putting that back in the box now. :)

Do they actually think this will not go down in history and will be forgotten when it is their turn? The ignorance is just absolutely incredible.

ratification by three fourths if the states to change the Constitution.

I was thinking that when pocahontas said her first act as president would be to get rid of the electoral college. I can just see all those small states saying why yes sure, kemosabe.

“Is he in trouble in his district?”

Unfortunately, no. The 6th district is the largest & most gerrymandered, to create a majority black district, in S.C. It expands amoeba-like; my house got picked up & moved into it one night and I lost my Republican congressman.

Clyburn will leave office only when he is carried out feet first.
