News that the Hallmark Channel is looking to add LGBT-friendly movies to its lineup is yet another stab in the back for conservative Christians, many of whom are still reeling from Chick-fil-A’s recent betrayal of traditional family values.
According to The Wrap, executives at Hallmark’s parent company, Crown Media Family Networks, admitted the network is seeking to air more stories focused on LGBT characters.
“We are continuing to expand our diversity,” Michelle Vicary, Crown Media’s executive vice president of programming, told TheWrap for a story published last week. “We are looking at pitches for LGBTQ movies
“Like the industry, there is a lot of work to be done to catch up.”
Vicary’s remarks echoed those made by Crown Media CEO Bill Abbot.
Abbot told The Hollywood Reporter last week he is “open” to movies that have a homosexual character in the lead role.
This holiday season, Hallmark is planning on releasing 40 original movies.
The channel’s reputation for airing wholesome, feel-good stories is widely known and greatly appreciated by millions of Americans who detest the radical nature of the LGBT movement’s demands.
A petition from LifeSiteNews, a pro-life, pro-family Christian website, warned Hallmark that it would “risk losing a big part of their market” if the network gives in “to the LGBT agenda.”
“Hallmark would be offending Christian viewers and Christian parents BIG TIME, by experimenting with homosexual themes, and, or cooperating with the LGBT indoctrination agenda,” the petition reads.
“Hallmark should also know that if they give-in to the LGBT agenda, the LGBT activists will never be satisfied.”
The petition had garnered nearly 30,000 signatures as of Friday morning.

We are looking at going to the Choice streaming option with Spectrum. You get some regular channels and choose 10 out of the options. Hallmark was going to be one of my choices. Guess, that is not going to happen.
Now I won’t be tuning in.
Let the gays have their own channel and they can watch these shows.

I have friends who watch that channel. None of them will care if there are homosexuals. Like most women, they believe all the propaganda.

Yep, I’ve always enjoyed the Hallmark Christmas stories this time of the year due to their wholesomeness and happy endings. But if they’re going to cater to the LGTBQWTUPX community in order to become inclusive, I have no intentions of watching them anymore......
Yep, and when Ghostbusters utterly failed, of course it was the fault of the haters. On YouTube, which is definitely not a conservative bastion, the new femmed-up/chunked-up Ghostbusters trailer had more dislikes than likes by a factor of 3 to 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3ugHP-yZXw). They cry that it’s proof that women are so hated and abused. My retort is: OK, let’s put out a remake of Sex in the City starring four fat male plumbers and we’ll see how that goes.

Look what they did to Nancy Drew. Good grief she was the female version of The Hardy Boys. Desensitization works folks and kids in Public Schools are inundated with it constantly.
Yep, you just described 97% of the Christmas movies merged with romantic comedies out there. I’ve always really liked The Ref and was never sure why. I think it’s because it makes fun of New England limousine liberals. One of my favorite lines is Denis Leary saying through clenched teeth, “Connecticut is the 5th ring of hell.” But that’s not a Christmas movie you watch with the kids, that’s one where you mix yourself a stiff drink and watch it after the kids go to bed.
It’s a great plan, this will show the world a sure-fire way to kill a network.
No joke. Anything that gets a mention in the media has to be analyzed for “what will the trannies think?”. The homos are the 1% and the trannies are the 1% of them but we’ve gotta make EVERYTHING accommodate them. It’s stupid.
We’re going to need a new ratings system if this keeps up.

I’ll never forget going on a first date and I was asked to pick the movie. I checked the newspaper (yes, it was a while ago when this happened), and picked a movie that had excellent reviews. It was a well-done movie, the photography was amazing, but near the end it became about incest. Cringe.

I can already hear the gasps in the nursing home. They ALL have the Hallmark channel on. I would go visit my mom. She would have HM on. I would mute the channel because she was deaf and couldn’t hear us talk.
I would hear the audio through the walls and down the halls.
When the two guys kiss....they are going to freak out. Of course if it was a multiple woman scene, the four or five guys would gather in a room and pop popcorn. Boys will be boys.

By the way, it’s interesting (to me) that you mentioned Nancy Drew. I watched last week a Nancy Drew movie from 1939 that I ran across by accident on one of the streaming channels. I liked it, much better than expected. I read Hardy Boys books and always saw Nancy Drew right next to them as a kid in the 1970s. I always figured that Nancy Drew was from the 1960s or so, I had no idea that it went back to the 1930s.
“Gay Christmas movies?” That is an oxymoron, no matter what Guy Benson thinks. Hallmark has never read the Bible? Start here clowns: Rom. 1:18-32.

Yep, people who do not respect “our heritage” are in essence disrespecting ALL who have come before them as they comprise our heritage.
