Yeah, this would be pretty much declaring economic war on Germany. They would no doubt hammer American companies in return. Starting with tech of course.

I’m no Cruz supporter. What I think Cruz is concerned about is that Germany will convert all their coal fired power plants to natural gas. Which will make Germany very vulnerable to extortion if an aggressive Russia threatens to cut off all supply of nat. gas during a conflict.
All eggs in one basket theory. Largest economy in Europe subject to the whims of Moscow (Putin). Not good.
