Juan Williams on Impeachment Hearing: ‘This Is a Distraction’
Breitbart ^ | 12/04/2019 | Ian Hanchett

On Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Radio’s “Guy Benson Show,” Fox News Political Analyst and co-host and columnist for the Hill Juan Williams criticized that day’s impeachment hearing as “a distraction.”

Williams said, “I don’t think that this is informing the public about much of the facts in any way. Because I don’t think we have any fact-based witnesses or evidence being introduced. So, what this is about, I think, is, you have scholars engaged in scholarly discourse with regard to whether or not what we know so far, in their opinion, rises to an impeachable offense. That’s the best face I could put on it. But, in all honesty, I don’t see that this is — I think this is a distraction.”

St. Juan the Apologist would make excuses for Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy if they were running for office as Democrats. I have never seen a creature so driven by pure communist ideology and as unethical as St. Juan.

Was she quick and clever about it ....

I was raised in an old-fashioned Conservative Jewish tradition. You were expected to have done the homework, have all the ducks in a row and be succinct while defending a position.

This tradition is famous for pipuls, which are hairsplitting, tedious and often clever methods of textual analysis. While an intellectual art form in itself, so, too, is the countering of such discourse.

By its nature, much of this is simply facile. Wordplay is often an integral part. It is fascinating to observe being practiced by those with a depth of knowledge of the texts under discussion, though. It is usually very quick and can be very caustic in a disguised (or not) sort of way, an intellectual, verbal ping-pong.

Adding my 2 cents for those unfamiliar with the practice, not to dispute you, because you are quite correct.
