The answer to 9/11 was a complete travel ban with most Mid-east, North African and South Asian nations into the USA.
The Washington deep state felt that spending several $$ trillions, 20 years of occupation and warfare in Afghanistan, and Muslim immigration into the West was the preferred solution.
