I was approached by a local politician in a restaurant in my hometown a few years ago, asking me for my vote. I asked him what party and he said Party doesn’t matter in local elections. I replied (loud enough for everyone in the dining area to hear) “I spent the first twenty years of my adult life defending America from Marxist Socialism, I’m not about to vote for one.” The pol left quickly to the sound of applause.
