So the message to the school kids (Assuming they are required to pay for their lunch) is....don’t worry about paying your way. Someone will pick up the tab. This is where socialism starts.

Paying of cafeteria debt is the latest fad. Everyone is doing it. Some schools, for some wacky reason, aren’t allowing anyone but the parents to pay off the debt.
It isn’t good. It only leads to more not paying next month. Besides, why should any kid have any lunch debt? It’s not like their parents have to prove they can’t afford the meals so they all could easily be on free lunches.
No kid goes without. If there is a debt, they’re given a cold lunch. Woooooo! The horrors! A lunchmeat sandwich, a fresh fruit, chips (why?) and a milk. And that meal never goes against their payment.
Since all students, no matter the family income, gets free breakfasts and snacks and free summer meals, why continue the reduced/free lunch program? The few who pay for their lunches are being scammed. Just give all meals to them and cut the double dipping of SNAP and EBT.
A nice gesture, but a drop in the bucket for someone making his salary. And why was the cafeteria in debt in the first place?
