You definitely cannot.
I made a comment a while back on how the voting demographics were changing all over the South and how it can be directly correlated to all the companies moving South, away from the high tax/regulatory sh*tholes they helped create, and brought all their workers with them. Someone responded, something to the effect that I didn’t like capitalism or whatever..
Far from it. What I don’t like is all the Southern Governors, that really started with Rick Perry and the rest followed suit, with going all over the place enticing these companies to move and giving away the farm to do it. Getting all their developer buddies to start slamming up subdivisions with pools and tennis courts. But, the jobs were supposed to go to Georgians, weren’t they? Nope. They went to the people that relocated. They went to the people that sold their 3/2 ranch on Long Island for $400k and then moved into a Mini-Mansion in an Alpharetta swim/tennis community, where they’re paying about $7000/yr LESS in taxes.
Look at Nashville. Some tout the new mayor as a Conservative. There was a 3 way race: 2 Democrats and 1 Republican. The Republican, Carol Swain, who is a textbook example of going from nothing to something, in more ways than one, gets bumped out and it comes down one Leftist beating out the incumbent, who is a bit more Leftist. Things are only going to get worse in Nashville. Chattanooga and Greenville, SC are the same way.
Interestingly, I have a friend that lives in the Nashville area. About 2 years ago, he was overjoyed about all the cranes dotting the skyline and his property value going up. Recently he posted something on FB about people moving into an area because the one they left sucked, but now they’re changing their new home to be like their old home...ha ha ha ha ha
Thanks for sharing your excellent commentary with me.
The changing demographics, especially the droves of people fleeing from “the high tax/regulatory sh*tholes they created”
is transforming the once-reliable South.
It is indeed impossible to understand why citizens of such onerous areas ostensibly are seeking a better life only to carry with them the same voting attitudes that basically were culpable in forming their misery in the first place.
