The media needs to quit using the term “hoax” in reference to situations like this.

This morning Fox and another network referred to the non-functional vest as a “hoax suicide vest”. That is a inane description as it minimizes the seriousness of the event, the person involved and the situation as a whole.

If I were a UK official, and if I didn’t want to alarm the public, I’d describe a real suicide vest as a “hoax suicide vest”.

Just sayin’.

I’m fine with it ... or “fake suicide vest”. Any rational person understands that one cannot tell the difference between a real or fake suicide vest at a distance.
