If the generalizations are accurate but unpleasant or some take them to have negative connotations, they are still accurate.

This is the fundamental problem. Generalizations are not inherently bad. Those made from deliberately bad info and false biases are the ones that need to be fought against. The ones that are based on truth and facts are fine.

There are reasons why generalizations come about and if they are based in truth, it serves a good purpose.
